Anet Ahern
 Anet Ahern is a prominent senior woman in the investment world, and has been included in the Mail & Guardian's Book of South African Women in 2005 and 2006. Anet was
managing director of BoE Asset Management (later known
as Quaystone) for approximately four years. Prior to that, she held
senior roles at BoE Asset Management including senior portfolio manager
and chief investment officer. Before joining BoE Asset Management, she
was with Syfrets Managed Assets (later NIB), where she was responsible
for the management of retirement funds across all asset classes and
became the best performing fund manager in the team. Anet started her
investment management career with Allan Gray in 1986, where she worked
in a range of investment process roles over approximately seven years.
Anet was one of the first South African women to achieve the Chartered
Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification by 1991.
In
addition to her corporate responsibilities, and role as mentor to
aspiring (and inspiring) young women, Anet has been a financial
commentator for Moneyweb, a columnist for Personal Finance, a freelance writer for Richer Life and a speaker at Old Mutual’s Investment Club.
In 2005 Anet returned to the investment world (as CEO of
Sanlam Multi-Manager International - SMMI) and she
remains committed to creating awareness and empathy around the issues
that modern, career-oriented, first-time mothers face. Anet’s interests include
technology, gadgets and software, cuisine, health and fitness, investments
and, most importantly, her family.
