The short story ... Gail Jennings is a writer based in Cape Town. After the cold and blizzards drove her off her second summit (Elbrus), she decided she preferred to read and write about them instead (and spend more time on her bicycle).
The longer one ... Gail Jennings is a Cape Town-based specialist health, development and environmental writer, researcher and editor. She is currently a researcher, writer and materials developer for Soul City's HIV and AIDS publications; and former editor of the SAMA-endorsed Healthy Pregnancy magazine and award-winning TLC magazine. Gail is also currently media consultant to a renewable energy company and project manager for a number of corporate and business publications. Gail has a masters level qualification (MPH) in health promotion and behaviour change, environmental law, health and human rights, epidemiology and qualitative research; as well as an MA in critical linguistics. She has written on a number of topics, from decor and food to travel and cultural heritage, and has worked as a publicist for corporate social investment projects in the education and film sectors. Gail is the author of the award-winning bestseller The Constantia Uitsig Recipe Book.
