To some people it is a way of life. It's a way of bringing yourself to the fine line of life and death with alarming immediacy.
WHAT IS B.A.S.E JUMPING? b.a.s.e is the acronym for building, antenna, span, and earth.
A b.a.s.e jumper is a person who sky-dives off these fixed objects rather than out of an aeroplane.
But b.a.s.e jumping is more than just that …
To some people it is a way of life. It’s a way of bringing yourself to the fine line of life and death with alarming immediacy.
IT IS A COMMITMENT TO LIFE AND NOT DEATH.
Four, international base-jumpers went to South Africa on a road trip to find high objects, climb them and jump off…
Our film crew followed liro Seppanen (Finland), Jeb Corliss (U.SA), Omer Mei-Dan (Israel), Yuri Kuznetsov (U.W.W.R/ U.S.A), on their quest.
The objective of the “African b.a.s.e” road tour was simple: to complete b.a.s.e in South Africa (i.e to jump off one of each of the four objects that qualify an individual as a b.a.s.e jumper), and to conclude the trip with a gravity-defying wing suit flight over the twin-tiered cliffs of the Milner Amphitheater.
